“Our survival depends on a significant portion of the human race accomplishing a change in worldview, from one of patriotic and tribal loyalties to loyalty to life itself.”
—Paula Green

Peace and Justice Work

Karuna Center for Peacebuilding

I launched Karuna Center in the last decade of the 20th century with a focus on Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe and Israel/Palestine. These regions remain in our circle of care and partnership.

The Contact Program

CONTACT became a time for deep healing from the wounds of war and the assaults of injustice. Global participants encountered their vast diversities and transformed through a web of common purpose.

Hands Across the Hills

In response to the polarization that accompanied the US 2016 elections, neighbors co-created Hands Across the Hills for dialogue and cultural exchange between Massachusetts and Kentucky communities.

About Paula

In my journey as a peacebuilder, whether in my home country of the US or across the world in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, I have been privileged to serve as a peacebuilder, educator, and dialogue facilitator, partnering with courageous and resilient community leaders in some of the world’s most difficult circumstances. It has been my mission to encourage those separated by war, enmity, prejudices, or perceived differences to seek understanding, discover common ground, learn new skills, and increase their capacity to promote peaceful societies for the benefit of all.
